Biography
Sebastiano Raimondo (Gangi, 1981) has a degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Palermo (2013). He is a PhD candidate in Photography at ISCTE-IUL with affiliation to the Dinâmia-Cet center and an FCT scholarship holder and a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo since 2019.
Finalist for the VAF-Stiftung Prize in 2022(Frankfurt, DE), he has wow the the Vila Franca de Xira Biennial Award in 2022.
His work has been published by Caleidoscope, Lisbon 2013; Circus of ideas, Porto 2017; Franco Cosimo Panini, Modena 2014; Scopio Editions, Porto 2018 and 2019; Edições Caracol, Palermo 2019; Urbanautica Institute, Verona 2020; Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo 2020 and Manfredi edizioni, Imola 2022.
He has exhibited regularly since 2008. He co-founded, in 2014, the group Presente Infinito in the city of Naples. Notable recent exhibition include shows at P46 Gallery (Camogli, IT), Palazzo Pucci Martinez (Petralia Sottana, IT), at the Fondazione Stelline (Milan, IT), at the Metropolitan Pavilion (New York, USA), at the Nogueira da Silva Museum (Braga, PT) and at Fondazione Tito Balestra (Longiano, IT). Currently is based between Lisbon, PT and Palermo, IT.
